Ski Trip

January 13th, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - January 15th, 2017 @ 5:00 pm

$60

The Troop will have a ski trip to Mt Abram in Maine over the Martin Luther King day weekend.  We will leave on Friday afternoon/early evening and meet at the American Legion Hall in Greenwood, Maine.  There will be skiing all day on Saturday, then dinner and overnight at the Legion Hall, then skiing Sunday morning to lunch/early afternoon, then we drive home.

For those who have not been on this trip, Mt Abram is a family and youth-group oriented mountain near Sunday River.  The Legion hall is about 5 minutes from the lodge.  The cost, including two days of lift tickets, travel and food is generally $60 per scout, depending on who is going.  Ski rental is available, as are lessons.  Beginners are absolutely welcome.  If you have never been skiing before, please let us know because we will need to arrange for sufficient adults to help with newer skiers.

ADULTS – we will need drivers,  particularly drivers who can ski a bit (I am not one of those).  The accommodations at the Legion are actually pretty good – it is very large and we share it with Troop 77 from Canton.  In the past, some of our chaperones, who have not found the prospect of sharing space with 70 or so boys and dads to be congenial, have been known to book rooms at a nice bed and breakfast down the road.  No judgments here – we need drivers.
