Each year the Boy Scouts of America conduct a nationwide “Scouting for Food” campaign to help collect food for local food pantries. Every scout, from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts and Venture or Varsity Scouts, is encouraged to help in this very worthwhile service project.
At the Troop meeting, each scout received a packet of 10 door hangers that can be handed out to friends and neighbors during the week of November 5th. The door hangers ask for food donations that our scouts will pick up the following Saturday, November 12th. More packets will be available at the meeting this week.
Each scout should then bring those bags of donated food to the Troop Meeting on November 17th, and parent volunteers will deliver our donations directly to the Cohasset Food Pantry, in time for Thanksgiving.
