The Troop will be having a Ski Trip over Martin Luther King Day weekend again this year.  Participants will leave Cohasset on Friday afternoon/evening and drive to Greenwood, Maine, where we will be staying at the American Legion hall.  We will ski all day Saturday, dine Chez Legion and return for skiing on Sunday until early afternoon.  We expect to be home by early evening on Sunday.

There will be a cost for this trip which will vary based on the number of participants.  In past years, the troop has asked for $60 to cover transport, food, lodging and two days of lift tickets.  Equipment rentals and available lessons are extra.

Mount Abram is well-suited for a Troop ski trip.  It is a family and group-oriented facility with most trails ending at a common point.  Unlike larger mountains, it is easy to keep track of our participants.

All levels of ability are welcome, but brand-new skiers should come with a parent or families make an arrangement with another adult who is willing to work with them on the hills.

We need adults to drive and who are willing to ski with the scouts and provide a general presence on the mountain.  Neither Vince Thornton nor I will be able to attend, so we will need someone to manage the paperwork, and someone willing to manage the meals.

Adults who would like to attend should also respond directly to this email.  We really need a commitment for someone to coordinate the trip (manage the paperwork, call the shots, drink a lot of coffee) soon.  Frankly, Sarah Peacock, who coordinates our arrangements, does it so thoroughly that the check-in and equipment coordination is easy.
